The problem your firm actually has

Technology that has to work on site as well as in the office

A building firm runs across an office, a van and a site that changes every year or so. Sites have no broadband, staff work from phones and iPads, and money moves between you, your suppliers and your subcontractors every week. Criminals know that. So do the clients and main contractors now asking about your security.

How do we get reliable internet on a site with no broadband?

Usually satellite, with 4G as a backup. On one site, set into a hill behind high retaining walls, mobile signal was unusable and the cabin itself blocked what little there was. Satellite broadband with an automatic 4G backup gave the site office fast, reliable internet from day one. Where the generator goes off at night, the site’s connection can run on battery, so it’s still up in the morning.

The kit belongs to you and moves with you to the next site. We set it up, watch it and fix it, so the site manager never has to. Printers, scanners and Wi-Fi for subcontractors come as part of the same set-up, with visitors kept off the network your business uses. When the satellite connection changes address, the security around the site’s printers and scanners updates itself, so nothing stops working and nothing is left open.

How do we stop payment fraud with suppliers and subcontractors?

Most of it starts with an email: a supplier’s “new bank details”, an invoice that looks right, a message that seems to come from you. We lock down your email domain so faked email is rejected, filter what arrives before staff see it, and train staff to check any change of bank details by phone, on a number they already hold.

CIS adds another layer. You hold subcontractors’ tax references and bank details, so access to them should be limited to the people who process payments, and protected with multi-factor sign-in.

Questions construction firms ask

Straight answers

Do our site staff need a full Microsoft 365 licence?

Often not. Staff who work mainly from a phone or iPad can use Microsoft’s frontline licences, which cost a fraction of a full office licence and still give them email, Teams and files, protected the same way. We set the split per person, so you only pay for what each role needs.

Every device is managed. A lost one can be locked and wiped remotely, company data sits in protected apps, and nothing important lives only on the device.

Through a shared project space with named people, not email attachments or open links. Everyone works from the current drawing, and access ends when the job does. If the architect works in Autodesk Construction Cloud, we make sure your team can connect to it properly. How we support architects.

Central government requires it for contracts that involve personal data, and it is a straightforward way to answer the security questions on tender and pre-qualification forms. INNOSEC certifies Cyber Essentials directly. For Cyber Essentials Plus, which needs an independent audit by a licensed assessor, we prepare you for that audit.

Every device is monitored around the clock for signs of attack. Your files are backed up every night, with a copy held offsite that can’t be changed or deleted for 14 days, and restores are tested rather than assumed. If you ever leave us, your backup data is returned to you within 45 days, in a form you control.

A site office kit is the same every time: internet, router, Wi-Fi, printer and screen, prepared before it arrives on site, so the cabin works the day it is delivered.

We help you work out what you actually need before anyone sells you something. For builders that usually means tracking costs against each job and handling CIS. We test the options against those requirements, so the decision is yours with the facts in front of you. How we support accountancy practices.

Yes, we support construction companies across Ireland and the UK.
